A varied retail business in Japan is Seven & I Holdings Co., Ltd. with its sales of food products, household goods, apparel, and miscellaneous general merchandise items in Japan, the People’s Republic of China, and North America. There are also 7-Eleven convenience stores, Denny’s Japan family restaurants, supermarkets, department stores, specialty shops, meal provision services, an online shopping site named Seven Net Shopping, as well as financial services.
In a joint venture with the Chinese Wangfujing Yokado, Seven & I recently opened a high-end supermarket in Beijing with a basement where one can sample prepared food, organic vegetables, and imports. This concept will be expanded elsewhere in China and already exists in Japan.
